Art Smart is an intensive 4-day artmaking workshop for Year 9 and Year 10 public school students who demonstrate high potential and gifted in the creative domain of visual arts. Students are tutored by experienced art practitioners in a studio environment that offers them the opportunity to gain new skills to extend their artmaking practice across a range of mediums and techniques.


Nominations for Art Smart are now open. Schools are able to nominate up to 5 students to participate in the program and are asked to complete the Art Smart nomination form by Friday 26 May 2023.

2023 dates


Students will attend the Art Gallery of NSW as an excursion on day one of the program as inspiration for the workshop sessions the following week.

Art Smart workshops  will be held on the following dates at Campbelltown Arts Centre

  • Monday 26 June 2023 (Term 2 Week 10)
  • Tuesday 27 June 2023 (Term 2 Week 10)
  • Wednesday 28 June 2023 (Term 2 Week 10)

Workshop times

8.30am - 3.00pm


The Exhibition of student work will be held on Wednesday 28 June 2023 (Term 2 Week 10) at Campbelltown Arts Centre from 5pm - 7pm


$175.00 per student. 
Should the Art Smart program be cancelled prior to the advertised dates and no alternative offered, a full refund will be provided. 
In the event of a COVID-19 related withdrawal from the program on the day of the workshop, the participant will be refunded 50% of the participation fee paid.


Students are required to bring a visual art diary, pencil, lunch and refreshments to the excursion and workshop days.
