'Every artist was first an amateur' Student Art Exhibition

Region: Regional South | Wollongong
Year 10 and 11
Local arts program Visual arts

Every artist was first an amateur is a week-long art exhibition, held at the Project Contemporary Artspace Wollongong, exhibiting work by Years 10 and 11 creative arts students from public schools across the Illawarra. Students studying visual arts, visual design and photography are welcome to submit their works for selection.

The aim of the project is to provide students with the motivation to produce meaningful class work, as well as providing them with a real life, subject specific experience to assist their course work and increase their appreciation of the arts culture.

The nature of an exhibition allows the public, including parents and family members to engage with the students learning and celebrate their achievements.

2023

Exhibition dates: Monday 6 November to Sunday 19 November 2023 (Term 4 Weeks 5 and 6)

Further detail will be available in Term 2.
