LIZ SCOTT: You're all going to love this one. Let's have B-flat major again.

[chord played on piano]

(singing) Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my favourite thing. (speaking) When you get to the top, (singing) Singing is my thing. (speaking) And you have to do it with a smile. Because that's why we're all here. Here we go. One and 2.

ALL: (singing) Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my thing.

Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my thing.

LIZ SCOTT: Good. Some of you are going, (singing lazily) 'Singing is my favourite thing.' (speaking) Singing requires a lot of energy, and smiling helps. Smiling uses-- I don't know this-- I should have looked this up-- but some ridiculous number of muscles to smile. Which is why people that smile and that are positive are generally healthier because they exercise all of the muscles in their face. I'm totally making this up, but I think it sounds really convincing!

[students laughing]

But if you frown, and you go, (singing lazily) 'Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my'-- (speaking) it has no energy, it sounds bad, looks bad. But if I go, (singing brightly) 'Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my fav'--

(speaking) Look someone in the eye-- doesn't have to be me-- can be anyone around the room-- and convince them. Here we go. Let's go up a semitone.

[chord played on piano]

Because singing higher also needs more muscles. Here we go. One and go.

Up another semitone. Hand up if you are a soprano. You're going to sing up a third.

So you're going to go (singing) 'Singing is my favourite thing,' because singing higher makes you happier. Because you're a soprano. Right? It's logic. Everyone else, (singing) 'Sing.' Sopranos, ready, and--

ALL: (singing) Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my favourite thing.

LIZ SCOTT: Smile!

ALL: (singing) Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my thing. Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my thing.

LIZ SCOTT: One last one. I like it in thirds. Ready, and--

ALL: (singing) Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my thing.

Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my favourite thing. Singing is my thing.

LIZ SCOTT: Beautiful. OK.
